It takes roughly 3 hours to drive to Mexia (pronounced Me-hey-ah) from Jeff’s house in Houston. Three hours of driving through small towns whose primary attractions are a dairy queen, a gas station and an over-priced mini-mart. It looks like a normal airport. It smells very clean, very American. There are long hallways with moving sidewalks and groups of weary travelers in jeans and sneakers.
