Actually, I was just bitter and fueled with insomnia. After reading the post with a non-bitter mindset I'm happy it still comes off with generally what I wanted to say.

I think there is a subtext in the comment that spurred it.
"I whine all the time and you not doing it and focusing on the good things in life makes me self-conscious. WALLOW, DAMN IT!"
We must hang again.

Definitely. I'll be back from California a week or so into September. From then on it's going to be school and the Ren Fair helping out a buddy. However, if you want to meet there outside the gates before you enter < nudge-nudge > let me know.

Communing with nature eh? How cool, unfortunately I mostly 'bond' with nature in my automobile. Some people have all the luck....

I think it's a good attitude myself.

And hey -- baby owls! Wow!

The baby owls were fantastic. There's a family of three of them and they've been flying just for a little while. No idea where the nest is, but it's close by.

We were all enjoying roasting marshmallows by the campfire when the first was spotted. After looking at it with a flashlight for a little while, we moved the light and saw the other two were within three feet, all three on their own branch looking at us.

Two acres in Westland, backing up to a nature preserve and a river. Who knew it was out there? It's beautiful.
