Cave Rave

It seems like it's been forever since Chris has been to a real, proper blowout. There aren't exactly any clubs on the island for this sort of thing, and the last time Chris had any kind of party in his own hut, it'd taken him fuckin' ages to properly sort out the damage. As it was, he was still finding brownie crumbs and other people's coats when ( Read more... )

It was in Hermione's nature to worry, but she had the sneaking suspicion that even if she wasn't trying to keep as close of an eye on the partygoers as she singly could, Billy's behavior would have caught her attention regardless. The question was, though, what was weighing him down so heavily that night, that his eyes were red, that his usual smile wasn't quite there- Hermione supposed that having been taken back with Harry and Ron to Hogwarts couldn't have helped, but something made her doubt that was the only problem at hand. Setting aside her drink, she wandered over to Billy's side, her lips pressing in worried disapproval as he (perhaps deliberately) partook of the offerings at the party.

As long as he didn't have too much, though. Even wizards and witches needed Calming Draughts, which were unfortunately impossible to concoct on the island.

"Hey," she greeted softly, a light smile on her face.

"Oh," Billy said, pleased to see Hermione. She didn't seem the type to come to a party like this, but Billy wasn't either, so he supposed it was all relative. Well, everything seemed relative right now, with the world swimming around them. "Hi! Hermione!"

Billy was much louder upon seeing her than Hermione had been in her greeting, and she supposed she shouldn't have been surprised. A brief look in his eyes told Hermione that he'd had quite a bit to eat, to drink, and she only took that as a sign that she needed to watch over even more people at that party. Maybe it would have been better if she'd just agreed to go as a chaperone (even if she suspected that would have gotten her banned from the party). She said none of that, however, and just laid a hand on Billy's shoulder, her smile wide.

"Hello, Billy," she tilted her head. "Having a good night?"
