Enchanted

This is 10th Kingdom related. I was curious as to how close Enchanted was to t10k, to those who have seen it. I kinda wanted to see it but it feels almost like a dirty little secret after it's success if it is like t10k. That might not be the exact phrase I want to use, but it gets my point across. Almost like it doesn't seem fair for it to be as ( Read more... )

I've seen it, I didn't find it at all similar to the 10th Kingdom except that they both partly took place in New York City (but different areas and for different reasons).

Hm. Maybe I shouldn't base my reactions on the promos.

The promos don't give a very good feel for the way the movie actually is anyway *shrug*

I agree with you. I was hoping it would renew interest in Tenth Kingdom, because its the same real-life fairy tale idea. I would love if they re-aired Tenth Kingdom on a big channel to get new generations of fans. :-)

Right? I mean I know it's cartoons come to life, but it's the exact same thing. The fact that it did reminded me of t10k was the reason I wanted to see it.

Yes, they should re-air it. The Halmi's just had a hit with Tin Man on the Sci-Fi channel and maybe now that Enchanted is out there it would bring in some viewers. I think they should definitely pitch the sequal to Sci-Fi, though, instead of Hallmark.

I recently saw Enchanted, and as much as I love it and The 10th Kingdom, I wouldn't say I noticed any similarities.
The 10th Kingdom had more of a dark and artistic feel to it, where as Enchanted was more of a feel good movie.
Enchanted had song and dance sequences and most of the plot surrounded the love story aspect.
The 10th Kingdom, with the exception of We Will Sheer You, did not include it's own songs, and it's story line was much more broad.
Both very good, but very different, movies.

I guess it was just the whole live-action fairytales that got me thinking. It's also kinda frustrating to see, as it *is* the same premise of t10k, that it was more popular. Almost like what could've been or something.

I see what you're saying, but I still think the two are very different.
Though, they have their similarities.
Kind of identical opposites you know?
I mean, t10k was real people in the fairy tale world, whereas Enchanted was fairy tale style people thrust into our world.
Except, in Enchanted, there wasn't any mention of the classic fairy tales, like Snow White and Cinderella.
It was just that kind of fantasy land where 'dreams come true', everyone finds their 'true love' and they all live 'happily ever after'

Sorry, that was me, I forgot to sign in...
Also, I apologize if none of that made sense...
