Last night I went to a debate of the city council candidates for students. I left realizing that I don't really like any of the candidates too well, and also I was poorly quoted in an article in today's Iowa City Press-Citizen:More than 40 students and community members attended the candidate forum sponsored by University of Iowa Student Government

"Brain drain" is when scientists, researchers, scholars, etc. leave their home countries for ones with more of those people, such as the US. I guess that might have to do with your school, only you'd be on the receiving end of the brain drain, so I don't know why you'd need to discuss it.

Yeah, see, that issue wasn't discussed at all and anyway I don't think the city council would have much control over that sort of thing.

Actually, it was discussed.

Everyone leaves Iowa to find jobs. We have a highly-educated workforce, but no jobs for them. That's why they talked about bringing in big, high-tech business.
