Potentially sticky situation, or not? (Warning: slight bitch fest) Question: So, how does one go about ditching one's personal trainer?

I'm pretty sure that I'm on my way to despising my current trainer. Today's session, while quite effective at working my entire body, was, in a word, horrible. She preferred to talk to the other ( Read more... )

I don't blame you for feeling pissed. Truth be told, I think she sounds like a real bitch. If she is truly rolling her eyes at you, walking off randomly in the middle of your sessions, and making you feel bad about yourself instead of better -- then hun, you NEED to get another trainer. Siriusly. She sounds awful.

I know that getting a new one may be kind of awkward, what with the gym being small and her bitchiness -- but I really think it will be worth it to seek out someone else. I don't think that she's going to help you. And if she's not going to help you -- which is her JOB -- then why pay for her services?

Agreed. She's getting the severance email tomorrow. No more food journals of doom...though I'll keep one for myself for a while.

Talk to the front desk about the supervisor for the trainers, tell the supervisor what happened (or "personality differences" works wonders) and that you just want to switch to this other trainer that you've heard is incredible. They're supposed to be thrilled to help you (and might even compinsate you). If this woman IS the supervisor (that's happened to me), contact the one that you want and ask for advice as to how to handle the situation. : )

I plan to contact the other chick (tomorrow night) and arrange an appointment to discuss training in the future. We shall see. The more I think about my bitch session today, the angrier I get. Compensation sounds nice... ;-)

i can see why you're in a pickle! motivating to get to the gym can be hard enough without having to deal with a bitchy disinterested trainer. if things dont get better maybe you could just explain to her that you would like a trainer with a "different approach"... either that or tell her she just plain sucks and then follow that statement with a rude hand gesture…

you know, depending on your mood haha

I think she's just mad that I have better boobs than her (and/or no penis for her to drool over). Seriously though, "irreconcilable differences" would aid in this divorce, methinks. lol "Different approach" sounds good to me!
