FFN vs. A2O3?

Hey, guys.  So, many of you know that when I first started writing/posting fanfiction, I started out on FanFiction.Net.  To me, it's one of the most user-friendly sites for both reading and posting fanfic.  I was later lured over to LJ because of nominations for "Chlollie Awards" (which still makes me smile when I think about that btw.).  For a ( Read more... )

I'm not a writer, but I'm an avid fic reader, and AO3 for me is the best option for several reasons: no ads, no censoring of any kind, extremely friendly admins [that will certainly help you out if you have any problem with stalking/bullying], and I just find the interface much much easier to both navigate and post.

I've helped one writer move from LJ to AO3 a couple of years ago, between she and I, we did the entire move in a couple of days. And this was 100+ fics in several fandoms. Since then the posting system got even more improved. I also love it that I can download fics/chapters straight to my Kindle, something no other archive allows me to do.

Anyway. If you need an invite to AO3 just let me know where to send it, I have a few of them.

Like you I started out with FFN and found that it meets all of my needs and I find it the most user friendly of any of the sites out there. Within the last year I started posting on AO3 and have found that for some aspects it is easier and for others it isn't ( ... )

first off, so sorry to hear that you are having these problems!! what is wrong with people?!

second, i love ao3 but can only speak to it as a reader -- i don't often search and have book marked certain relationships, authors and pages and it works great. ff.net was great back in the day but maybe we are starting to outgrow it...

and since I'm here and I often read but don't leave many reviews... latest update was great!!

As a reader, I love AO3. It's easy to track stories I like and search by tag. I can't speak to using it as writer but it seems pretty user friendly. If you need an invite, I have a few, too.
