There has been speculation as to who the woman talking to Wilfred is throughout the press and throughout fandom. Because I do not go on the forums I do not know if there has been some revelations as to the identity of the woman in question...

Well well well... in the unlikely event that anybody has NOT seen it, I will refrain from spoilers. Suffice it to say, that the main protagonists were played skillfully, especially Timothy Dalton's part...
I think he's enjoying somewhat of a renaissance in his acting career...
