I don't think I've gotten as many mental "ow"s when reading during any other chapter. Moments like, '“I know he’s not as tall as you like. Or as blond. But what you like is of no consequence.”' and "He’d kissed a smile so similar to that. and China's '“I don’t buy things I don’t want.”' I mean, could they have picked any more painful words? ;A; *wiiiiiibbleee*

Though China was rather cold-hearted here, I can't help but like his characterisation. Especially with his comments towards Mao's reign.

I think that China isn't...naturally cold-hearted, but he's extremely pragmatic, and that can very easily look like cold-heartedness. And his current situation isn't doing a lot to improve the way he's behaving towards Russia.

I'd say China's pretty cold-hearted RE: Russia at the moment. Because fuck you, pal. I'll adjust, and I'll do as Mao says, and that includes sleeping with you, but I want you to know exactly what I think about all this.

I was actually wondering when a new chapter was going to show up mere seconds before I saw this. ~*PSYCHIC*~

China. You guys, your China is perfect. A little dry, a little harsh, just . . . wow.

And speaking of sad, this was probably the saddest chapter yet, for me. Nothing really happened to make it that sad - at least, not anything that hadn't been set in motion about a dozen chapters ago - but the air of it was just so beautifully gloomy.

. . . of course, that could be the actual gloominess of the weather around here talking, but still. Excellence.

Absolutely no one is getting what they want. Well, except Mao and Stalin, I guess, but we don't care about them. China is getting steamrolled over, Russia has just slept with someone he can hardly stand...It's just painful to see them being forced into a situation that they want nothing to do with.

I mean, it's so weird to see Russia as the youngest of the two for a change.

It really is. It's not something Russia is really used to, at least, not having that huge an age gap with another nation, so China totally played it up. Its pretty obvious that talking about his childhood makes Russia uncomfortable, and China knows exactly why, so "Hey, Russia, let's get to know each other a little bit, huh? Gosh, you were a weepy little kid, weren't you?"

I need tons of fluffy right now...

We need to just start writing fluffy chasers for all this madness.

China needs to get to be cool more often. He's always stuck doing the hapless hand-wringing act.

I kind of get the feeling that he can talk circles around Russia, most of the time.
