Spreading the focus would distract from the story, I think, but I do grin stupidly when Poland or Lithuania are mentioned :)

Oh, yeah. The fall of communism is still too far away for us to know how we're gonna handle it, but there are going to be Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, and Prussia cameos. At the very least.

I somehow foresaw the "It hurts so good" option running to the lead. XD *joined the club*

As for the hoped characters cameos, I'm definitely rooting for the Hungarian revolution to make an appearance. ... As I once did a presentation of it for our History class. XD Buut, that won't come until after 1953, eh? *wink wink nudge nudge*

1956 usually does. XD

Will Israel show up again sometime?

I-I don't especially like her, but she seems like a very interesting character, and she's the only OC so far, and she had (and has) a quite big influence on America, so...

Mmm. *thinks* I really, really don't know. America's relationship with her got turbulent in the 70's and 80's, but...I dunno. Pyrrhic and I would really need to have a sit-down to decide how to bring her back in, so...

(Most half-assed answer ever, sorry. XD)

The thing about the comments always make me worry that I am not making coherent or intelligent enough comments and it's one of those things where I hate it when there's a lot of work put into something and all I can say is "HO SHI--" It's cheap, so I always appreciate it when you guys keep up with the comments so nicely and write three things for every one thing we say. ♥

I like angst as much as the next person, but honest to god. HONEST TO GOD. IF I READ THIS AT WORK, BEFORE WORK, OR AFTER WORK AND THEN GO INTO WORK MY KIDS ARE GETTING A VERY DEPRESSED TEACHER who flails and talks about how the Russian and American relations are just completely out of whack and they wonder what is going on.

Being selfish, I'd love to see Taiwan.

I would have loved to have my teacher freak out about Russian/American relations when I was in elementary school. But maybe that's just me. XD

It's totally, totally cool. As Pyrrhic said earlier, we don't tape the shorter comments to a wall and chortle as we drink whiskey and throw darts at them. (Well, maybe she didn't say that, exactly, but she meant it. XD) We love every response we get, no matter how short, because it's a way for us to see that ya'll are having just as much fun reading this as we are writing this. And that's all we want, really. Long comments are fun, because we get to meta, but if people don't want to write a longer comment, but do anyway, it shows. You don't have to write an essay, promise! ♥

I was explaining to the kids about the Cold War, yes? And these are 15 year olds.

Me: Do you know why it's called the Cold War ("Reisen" in Japanese)?
Them: Because it was a cold war? (They said it as "tsumetai na sensou," which means literally "a war that was cold," like the climate.)
Me: .............

I guess this is why I'm needed. And thank god for your fics. It makes it easier to explain.

Aaah, comment-writing, such an art!
