Normally I like to leave longer comments but... I can't express anything other than how much I enjoyed reading this part :)

I loved this chapter so much. *So much*. It was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. The two of them talking and holding each other and wanting physical reminders of the other and just enjoying each others nearness was beautiful (Sorry, I cant help but repeat that word over and over Lol). But really, even if it hurts, the separation is needed. Neither of them want to go to nuclear war with each other (and I'm sure the other nations can all agree on this point).

One might almost say that "Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder" couldn't ring anymore true here.(?)

Thanks for writing and posting, this really brightened up my evening :)

The two of them talking and holding each other and wanting physical reminders of the other and just enjoying each others nearness was beautiful.

They're just trying to soak up one another's touch while they still can, trying to make all of this last like they know it can't.

But really, even if it hurts, the separation is needed.

It would almost hurt less if it was unnecessary. At least then they could be united against an outside force that was trying to pull them apart. As it is, they know it's for the best, and it's killing them.

They actually said a lot that needed to be said, this chapter. Just...it's a little hard to appreciate it through the bittersweetness.

Best thing they've done for each other... and it makes my heart hurt more that anything else. That's so fucked up.

Suddenly, suddenly I wish this was AU, because the only thing that's going to make me feel better now is to see America and Russia holding hands an kissing and skipping off into the sunset. :(

Oh God, you don't know how often Wizard and I have just spun off into random AUs to console ourselves. D= All, "Hey, you know what? Let's just...say that America killed Stalin, and Russia was reformed into a democracy after WW2, and then they had lots and lots of healing cuddles and they became roommates and got a Blockbuster card together and maybe they did a little bit of relationship counseling and after that they were just fine."

And then we write another chapter of TCE. ._.

They do get a happy ending. We promise that much. But oh God, they've got to work to earn it.

Shared ownership of a Blockbuster card is the hallmark of a successful relationship. Even if they're both really bad at returning things on time. ♥

And even if Russia goes to check out some sensible period drama, and hears from the checkout girl "Oh...this account is overdue on returning Vampire Nazi Explosion Militia parts 2 through 7."

Russia: "...I will...do something about that."
