yea, i just started getting into it after moving to san diego cuz that's all they played at parties. in fact ferry corsten played at my fraternity before playing a show at a club downtown. it was amazing. after going to festivals here and in LA i've gotten completely hooked on the whole experience.

ive been deeply into EDM for over a year now so i'd love to swap good songs and shit yo. my boyfriend is a EDM DJ so he shows me some amaaaazing stuff and its truly an amazing type of music. what people dont realize about EDM is putting together a good EDM song is like putting together a beautiful orchestral piece. thousands of different synthesizers make millions of different sounds at different sound densities and you have to choose which ones to put together to create a piece of music at what beat in time. i mean, its such an amazing art.

Electric dance music IS symphony music of the 21st century.

i want to go to that festival you just mentioned!

and do u like any other genres than like daft punk/electro and stuff? like drum and bass or breakbeat or anything?

That's exactly the way i feel! i've taken loads of classes about art history and in the humanities, and without fail we go over classical music which i've grown to highly appreciate. through these classes i've always thought of the possibilities if bach or handel had these sort of resources like today's DJ's do. This is the sort of stuff i think they'd aim to create.

As for genres i like, i mostly stick to a good dose of house, electro and trance. i do listen to sebastian who i think is drum and bass. another thing i love is how easy it is to find great new dj's because everyone remix's everyone's stuff. i'm so excited that i found this new passion...

...and you should definitely go to what is now being lovevolution, in sf. i went last year when it was called lovefest and it was one of the greatest days i've had in much too long.

gah, i need to check this thing more often. sorry that i missed you for the weekend, my phone is broken so i've been unreachable...for better or for worse. we should just exchange lists with all the songs that we would've put on hypothetical cds that we would've made for each other, haha ( ... )
