scariest day of my life

Miranda is in hospital right now. She has a fever of nearly 40 and they can't figure out why. her neck doesn't hurt but they're testing for some different kind of meningitis or something, or possiblly it's an infection only they can't find the infection anywhere

it's not meningitis. Her fever is down, but they still don't know what it is.

She's in one of those seperated rooms because they don't know if what she has is contagious and we had to wear bio protection face masks to be with her and she's hooked up to all these instruments and monitors and has the stupid oxygen tubes in her nose and there's an iv drip in each hand and they keep adding random antibiotics into the drip to see if they help and they've done all these tests that haven't shown anything. They took blood and they did x-rays and they did a ct scan and they took spinal fluid. I think the spinal fluid test results may not have come in yet.

That's fucking terrifying. Is she lucid now? And more importantly does the fever being down mean she's getting better/going to be okay?

yeah she's lucid now (has been since last night) but she was really drained when I saw her. She may or may not be sent home tomorrow whether they figure out what it is or not.

oh god, being in the hospital over the holidays sucks even more than it normally sucks. i hope she is feeling better soon... *hugs*
