Well, I finally got around to something I've been wanting to start since I joined this clam bake: playing with some of the great faces in Hot Nerds! My first pass got 8 of you, and I tossed in a Sogi I did not too long ago as an added bonus. ( Enjoy! )

Dude, those are very good. Out of curiosity, why is ineptus the only one with a body? (or was she the only one to post a full body shot? I'm way to lazy to go back and look..)

Mostly because she had that great full-body pose. I like full-body caricature when I get something worth playing with, and that one had a great personality and style to it. Also I thought the almost Aeon Flux-ish retro hair would be fun to play with in the drawing.

These are brilliant. I hope you do this for money sometimes, because I think people would pay a lot to get them done!

Another cool thing -- I think lots of people make charicatures a very ugly version of the person. I think that these are really cute!

2 questions for you:
1) Just to verfiy -- is that last one a picture of me? my pictures, for reference. I thought it was, but I just wanted to make sure before claiming it.
2) can I make it my user icon? I wouldn't want to do so without crediting you, so if you want you could put some sort of signature in it. (otherwise I'd probably modify the image myself to include your username) I could also put your name/username in my userinfo.

Yeah, the blonde in the lower-right is you. I feel like I rushed that one a bit, so I might go back in and rework it. Mostly I like the face, just want to play the hair and neck up some and build into a bit of the shoulders to ground it.

I have done a few years of caricature at Six Flags Over Georgia as a summer job, and I pick up commissions and parties every once in a while. I've been fascinated with people's faces since middle school, and consider caricature to be less of a lampoon than an emphasis. The idea is to make a drawing that shows what makes the subject individual and push those identifying traits even farther.

Oh, and as a P.S.

Sure, everyone feel free to use your caricature however you like (promotionally, icons, website, it's all cool with me). All I ask is not even credit, just that people don't claim that they're the artist. Heck, if anyone wants the original of their caricature, contact me and I'll give you the artist and shipping fees I need to make that happen.
