Tomorrow I fly to my home town, Fort Collins, Colorado, to help my sister clean out the house I grew up in. Mom is now in a nursing home getting appropriate care for the last stages of Alzheimer's disease. In honor of the new year, I am posting to LJ for the first time in 10 months. 2008 is well and truly over, and I have no interest (or ability) to recap/rehash what happened to me and those I know. Get real!
Okay, I love Johnny Depp as much as the next straight woman. But seriously -- Best Actor, for Sweeney Todd?!?? He did a decent job in another Tim Burton movie, that's all. I for one don't think proving that you can carry a tune in the studio (where you get as many takes as you need) deserves a Best Actor nomination.
Hmph. Damn Academy.
