I'm sorry, but I will be leaving the community the point of reciving an award is to be nominated by your peers their is no point in nomnating your self! The real award shows are not self nominations.

Yes, but with so many people withdrawing their nominations after they are placed in the running, can you really blame the moderators for wanting to give themselves a break from the headache that is going back and changing everything because a few people change their minds half-way into it?

Personally, I think these new changes are great. Sure, people can still find out the identity of their friends, and vote for them, but it doesn't make it easy for them to do so. Other award communities have died because they weren't able to deal with the drama involved -- I think this is a good way to keep things drama-free, and fair.

Bye nominating yourself? It is a pointless award if you nominate yourself. What are you to say, oh hey I wont this award, I nominated myself.

I just dont think it is rigt. If people withdraw from the race then remove i have my own awards community, It's not that big of a headache.

Ah well. I am just saying that I can see where they are coming from, but I don't expect everyone to agree. I hear what you're saying about nominating yourself, but then .. it is no different than writing a challenge fic for a contest, or .. hey, making an icon for an awards community. At least, that is the way I think of it. You are putting the work into it -- you want it to be recognized (as I am sure others do, as well). I am too lazy, though, and will probably not even get around to nominating myself anywhere .. but it is a change, and change (although not always necessarily good) is innevitable. The way of the world, etc.

No need to apologize, you were not the only one who had strong feelings about the changes.

Thank you for doing such a great job!

Also, I would like to use the same idea for my awards group, We have been called 'shady' and no such thing is going on. If you wouldnt mind. I can credit your idea in our userinfo?

I'm voting NO on this one. Here are my reasons:

1. You jumped to conclusions and hated the idea and criticized us for it in the beginning. Yes I know you apologized but still.
2. The idea took a very long time and a lot of brainstorming to figure out.
3. Every comm wants to stand out on its own, we can't do that if you use our ideas.
4. I'm going out on a limb and saying if you use our ideas, other people will discredit you for not coming up with your own. And quite possibly could discredit us for letting you use it.
5. No.

Sorry, but that's just how I feel about it. Try coming up with your own way of doing things. Heck, you may even come up with a better idea than this one and then attract attention to your comm.

In reference to the 'shady' incident at your comm, it could be partially solved by getting more members and another mod.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I really like this nifty community you have going here. The changes look like a great idea, I can't speak for everyone else but I will stay.

Ending drama is good. *L* And personally, having read all the new changes, I think it's a very fair system that hopefully will also get people to read all the samples. I, for one, voted for the ones I thought were best and sometimes they were players I'd never heard of before.

If this gets more people to truly read everything, then kudos. And also, you have done a great job to make this comm as fair as possible. I hope that some of the other changes make it easier on the mods as well. :)
