Oh... to the frustrated masses... let me mend your wounds... or not.

Okay folks, so I made the changes last night, and I am sticking with them.. however here are a few concerns that have popped up overnight...

- The four character category thing: Yes it does seem pretty limited, however every community will have up to 3 nominations to make per category. Now when I say EVERY community I mean EVERY community. So take ( Read more... )

Hey there I guess I'm just another one to voice my concern. Not on the concept which btw I really do love but there are a few things that are a little confusing and frustrating at times. Changes are good of course but when a change keeps occuring, taking out the old one, for members it sometimes is a little hard to keep up. Each Idea is good but sticking with one for a round would be good then switching it up for the next would be fine.

Also the mentioning of other communties kindof does looks a little low. I know it's your opinion and other people may share but I personally feel that it isn't necessary. The community itself should stay focused on what changes they need to make and not put others down. I don't know I just thought it was a little odd and I maybe over stepping my boundaries but I just wanted to share my opinion.

I really do love the community you've got going don't get me wrong but I just a had a few concerns. Thank you for listening to my rambling..

I certainly hate to be a voice of dissension, but I have to agree with the last two comments.

You shouldn't be worried about other awards comms. At the very least, the josscars was already very different from other comms because you could vote in every category, for every category. Most of your members are members in other awards comms, so it's not like you are pleasing much of them.

Your game was different. Popularity contests and or cliques are going toappear regardless of what you do. the great thing about the way you had it was that you could read everybodies work and get a feel for other comms and writers. i can't speak for everyone, but I know that I spent more then a week reading samples.

Maybe, it would have been better to implement this knew plan after we went through the second or more rounds, because basically, you just said that the first round winners(at least to a degree) won because of ciques and popularity and you can't really know that for sure.

I firmly agree here. You don't know what one person sees as best compared to the other person. I read each and every sample and I know that who I chose though I knew them was who I believed was the best. I am sorry that you all feel that you have to be all nazi about something that should have been fun and an ego boost to those who work hard to post their posts and yet still have fun. What I don't get is why that is so hard for you, the josscar mods, could not agree with this.

I have to agree with the last handful of comments in this thread. I myself only belong to two award communities, but both are very different from each other as I am sure all the others in some form are different from you as well ( ... )

Your minds are changed like your underwear. This is ridiculous!

You post stuff in here that I posted in an ooc, the main reason I posted that was to PIMP your community out because I believed that this community was a good idea.

But now you’re off telling people they only opened an awards community despite you.

That’s not cool; by the way I bet a lot of people believe it is childish. Also back to the OOC that was another childish move on you part as mod’s.

Like the rest have said you are making this way to difficult for people to keep up with, I will not be surprised when they don’t even bother with it any more.

I do understand wanting to end the popularity contests, that’s not going to happen. I have RP’ed with certain people for awhile now and know the way they write and portray their character, so if I only voted for them because they are my friend I will still be able to.

You have to be able to have one way of voting and stick to it otherwise you will loose all your members. Lots have already commented. So please end the ( ... )

First of all, please see my above comment to see if it helps.

Secondly, I do appreciate your concerns.

Finally, if it comes down to the fact that you still don't like how we do things here, please leave and there will be no hard feelings. It really sucks when you're trying to do something new and creative and all you get is a bunch of trash talking from people because of ONE thing one of the mods said in the post about the changes.

it isn't as much what was said as it was how many changes have been made. Like someone said above you change your rules like you change your underwear. I have never seen someone change their rules as much as you all have. I mod several comms and I know who I think is good and who I think isn't quite the character. I am not quiet about my feelings, when I vote I vote based on that. Simple as that. You all cant guarantee that everyone is like me so give it up. Just let people nomm who they believe is good and vote for who they believe is good. Don't make it so constrained that no one wants to participate anymore. Thats all we are saying.

Once again I agree with you.!. Well, agreeing with you is agreeing with me.

But anyways, they need to have a firm set of rules.

They need to stop acting so childish about everything. Yes they want to be diffrent, but in the end it all boils donw to the samething.

I actually pretty much disagree with the last couple of comments, though I do understand where they are coming from and probably could see myself agreeing in other areas perhaps who knows ( ... )

Thank you so much for your support. It's great to see that some people do appreciate what's being done here. We can please some people all of the time, and everyone some of the time, but we can't make everyone happy all the time.

Just a question about the categories!!

With the Angel and Buffy noms, what happens if you have a game that has both? I mean I have Angel characters and Buffy characters! My community started after Season 7 of Buffy and Season 5 of Angel...so, I am somewhat lost...lol.

Am I allowed to post a members only post involving all the categories!?

And...

I love what you're doing here! I honestly think the idea is fantastic, especially since I took Multimedia in highschool! I know exactly what you're talking about...which is awesome! lol.

Anyway, you're doing a great job no matter what anyone says! They just can't accept change possibly or just don't like the factor that "Best whoever" doesn't exist anymore? *Shrugs* Who know's.

But thanks for the great community!! Congrats! *Thumbs up* I look forward to get the nominations in from my community...but wait for everyone to see this new change and everything! Thanks.

Thanks for your question!! I almost gave up!!

Basically we split the shows up only for Cast qualifications.

So if you are in a crossover game, that is fine, just put all the Angel cast members in the Angel categories, and all the Buffy cast members in the Buffy category.

As for OCs, I think it is the players choice. If they think their OC would have fit into the Buffy world better then it should go in there.

Dear Josscar Mods,

I'm sorry for furthering or possibly continuing arguments above. I'm stopping. Please don't allow the views of few affect your position on your decisions. Nor the fighting above, I apologize for my part in it. Just tend to get passionate and argumenative.

Don't worry about it... I knew it would happen, I just didn't know to what extreme. I suppose getting any reaction is better than no reaction at all... right?? Right??
