Mello slept for a long time, curled up on the floor beside Hisoka, completely oblivious to the atrocities he'd committed or the fact the shinigami's ribcage was still mostly exposed or that his own hands and arms were still covered in dried blood. He slept, dreamlessly, while the Hotel returned to normal.

It wasn't until he woke--groggy and still sleepy and a little cold--that Mello remembered.

He sat up suddenly, gasping and dizzy, staring at Hisoka, and all the blood drained from his face.
