No rush. We all have lives outside LJ. I was actually concerned you had sent it and that it got lost in junk. I get gobs of junk, so be sure to make a really obvious title or something whenever you email me.
I adore my piano, as well, but it really is a crappy old thing. One day I'll buy a real piano and the 'childhood' antique will get relegated to a corner. (But never the street-corner.) Yours is gorgeous. What kind is it?
I'm actually curious how the acoustics are in that apartment. I recently moved and discovered, with joy, that my new music room has WONDERFUL sound: you can hear every articulation, and it's much, much louder, which will force me to play softer (a very badly-needed development.) I never realized before that the acoustics of the room can actually be relevant to one's practicing.
Perhaps you could record something for us some day?
The piano is a Steinway 'B' that my parents bought in 1994. I kind of just took it with me when I moved out and I've had it ever since. The finish looks shiny in the pictures because of the lighting, but it's really just the standard ebony satin.
The acoustics here are good, although the room is kind of small for such a large piano. I always keep the lid closed.
I have attempted to record myself before but with disappointing results. It's difficult for me to overcome my rampant perfectionist streak, and there are also the usual technical problems relating to sound quality and cheap recording devices.
I've recently (over the past six months or so) been overhauling my technique by playing nothing but Bach, which is why your question to me was so timely.

What sheets are those?

The sheet music is the Goldberg Variations. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten your email.
