He'll be back.

On the 'phone with satanismyname tonight, he told me about a downstate state senator who is chairman of the Committee for Legislative Action. (This guy looks familiar from last election or the one before - I'll have to look into that and find out why.)
I tend to go along with the (usually) great folks at Snopes, who explain very nicely why Iterent petitions are crap. )

So, did you "register" your support?

I want Blagojevich out of office. However, amending the state Constitution is a big deal. I don't remember what I thought of the recall vote in California (aside from the insanity of the number of candidates). Is it too disruptive? Would the money and effort be better spent preparing for the next regular election to get him out then? What if you go through all of that, and the recall fails?

I think Senator Sullivan is wrong, though. Just because he does a crappy job doesn't mean he'll lose the next election. He has to do something "catastrophic" to do that. There are too many people who will vote for him in the primary because he's the incumbent. There are too many people who will vote for him in the general election because he's a Democrat. Isn't that why he won a second term in the first place?

I'm serious about that letter I'm thinking of writing to Dan Hynes to encourage him to run against Blagojevich in the primary.

That's why I picked that subject line. He's an incumbent Democrat in a heavily Democratic state. Lots of people who don't pay attention to the news - like my mother - are going to vote for him ( ... )
