Mange. For goodness sake, sharing a paddock with wombats and foxes has exposed my poor little ponies to Sarcoptic mange. They are all being treated today...and again in two weeks...with a product called Swift. That and a big dose of ivermectin. -
Castiel - Popping Stifle
My beautiful boy has a popping stifle....turns out being an adolescent has temporarily caused a condition whereby his patella is locking. The vet says he sould grow out of it in a bout six to eight weeks with the help of a couple of steriod shots and some exercise.

Updates are slow when I'm exhausted!
Thanks to my friend mermaiden I have been prompted to update on the minor events:
1. The Two Fat Ladies have gone back to the farm, their paddock has been slashed and I needed the yard for Bella. Why? Well....
2. Bella injured her eye! Yep, once again I have started the year with vet bills in January!! History is repeating itself.

Streptococcus Equi bacteria
So it turns out the bacteria in Princes fetlock is the same bacteria that causes strangles. Do you think I'm not shitting myself now...I have 2 OLD mares who share a paddock with him, my 7 little ponies live just up the road, and I have my old t'bred gelding as well.

Maiden filly leaking milk!!
So yesterday I was feeding the mob and as usual giving all the girls a scratch around the udder (cos they love it) when I decided Bella's udder felt a litte...swollen, flabby, distended? I dont care what word is used here but it was marginally bigger, enough to make me actually bend down and LOOK> and there was drips on her teats.
