Angel woke up late, well after Cordelia was at work and by the time he was awake and ready to go to work himself, she'd come home and gotten Ciara ready for bed. Their schedules didn't leave a lot of time for talking to begin with and made it all too easy to avoid one another after the fight. He hadn't meant to get her pregnant--it was stupid.

Cordelia set the grocery bags down outside the door to unlock it, holding open the door with her foot. "I'm home," she called. "Hope you're awake, Angel. We have food."

"Been awake for a little while," Angel promised. "Need me to help put it away?"

"Unless you're entertaining Ciara." Cordelia hauled in the bags and let the door swing shut. "Do you want to cook before you go?"

Which meant he would cook if he knew what was good for him. "I can cook." He put Ciara in her playpen and went into the kitchen, busying himself with putting food away and not making conversation.

Really, he would think that Angel would recognize an inferior lock. Especially with his own family depending on the piece of shit.

Picking the lock takes no time at all. Switchblade open, Spike makes his entrance with a loud, "Right. Got the rubberband?"

"Rubber band?" Angel asked, less than surprised to see Spike breaking into his apartment. "What would you need that for?"

Spike shoots him a wicked grin.

"Your castration," he says easily. "'Course, could do it without the band. Little messier, but there's the fun, eh? Cordelia invest in bleach?" He eyes the carpet.

"You are not cutting off my cock," Angel said flatly. "I think Cordelia would be upset."
