Kinda the downside to Brissy actually getting rain: Newie gets more of it. The tanker made the national news; the rest of it sounds pretty full-on, too.

I can't believe you're giving props to Fox News; I can, however, believe you'd go and check if the bar was still open during the worst storm this year. :-P

It's the bar. We required alcohol to cope with the stress of it all. Both bars were closed. Dreadful. Truly dreadful.

I too was not surprised about the search for a bar that was open. I am just glad that you and the family are safe and reasonably dry. I have just realized that a perk of living in a mountainous area means that no tankers will ground themselves on our beaches, as we don't have any ;)

Fucking crazy huh? I expect it's not as bad up here as it is in Newie but even so it has been fucketing down. My room is flooded in two corners (not the grab-the-rowboats-and-get-the-hell-out kind of flooding, but still, unwanted water) and there is something of a lake in between my room and the house, as I discovered a short time ago when walking across in the dark and suddenly finding myself plunged into ankle-deep icy water. I know what you mean about how freaking cold it is, too. My feet were like, "what the fuck?"

So, yeah... BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!

Hehehe... well, you can always say "My birthday was the day Nobbys beach got raped by a ship and it almost left a nasty STI".

Awesome, though -- seperate bedroom to the house. I want one.

Well if you do go for the seperate bedroom option make sure it is in range of your Wifi network, otherwise the website you have been intending to create may be delayed by upwards of six months because no one can be bothered to fix the problem.

Just move the router? Or, alternatively, get a booster box/directed antenae.
