The stupid part of the whole fiasco is that I was almost done last year. I don't know what it was that took the wind out of my sails, but I'm happy to see a few folks are still interested in it.

I'll always be interested. My fear is that with the new series everyone will have a new toy and forget about 10.5/Rose. I'll be very sad if that happens.

Seriously, I thoroughly enjoyed rereading this in preparation to read this chapter, and I don't think the chapter feels disjointed from the rest of the story at all. So exciting! I can't wait for more.

It doesn't feel disjointed because I wrote this last year but didn't post it, so this is still catching up with what I already had written. Next chapter will be new and... urgh. We'll see how that goes.

OT but what is up with the Doctor's hair in your icon?

It was partially your encouragement that got me working on this again, so thank you for that. I think part of what sucked the wind out of my sails last year may have been writing a female OC and liking her a lot, and wondering whether everyone would think she was a Mary Sue. She's nothing like me, and she's a bit rude, and it's not like I'm pairing her with any canon characters, but... you know how fandom is. But with one more year of fandom participation under my belt, I care a whole lot less about people who think that any sympathetic female character is an OMGSUE.

Think about the scope and breadth of the supporting characters that we have seen in even just new Who and tell me that an OC is a bad thing. That's one of the reasons I like the show best -- the constant addition of new characters for the Doctor to interact with and care about. I'm glad to have helped you start writing this again, in any case.
