Truly horrific and chilling--gorgeous writing and pacing, clearly drawn characters. Your dialogue is stellar.

Thank you so much! It's hard writing dialogue for little kids, so I'm really grateful of the compliment.

I am always fascinated with your ability to weave two different stories into one terrific piece. I think each story would stand firmly on its own and it is a gift that your mind works to connect them so well.

Thank you! I originally had the idea for the story of Eli, but I realized it was a very short story and decided that expanding upon the theme might be interesting. We had that conversation about fiction versus non-fiction, so I decided it might be interesting to try combining the two again. I feel like it helps show how I get from personal experience to fiction, since we talked about about what we know about each other from our fiction versus non-fiction. I'm so glad you like it.

Very well done. I had a pet vampire when I as younger though she was nothing like you described. The lady that came to me really was nice and she always ran the bad ones off.
