01. Am now working my way through the third season of Sanctuary. Feel free to blame this on
lytab5. (But seriously? This show is awesome. I don't know why it took me up till the very last few episodes of the first season to get into it, but I'm glad I'm finally on board). Would anyone like to ~talk~ about this show with me? (Both the good and bad points

Glad I'm not the only one who thought so - the Prince's acting was all right, but Cinderella? Not so much. Kind of ruined it for me.

ADSJLSJLFSKLSJFASDKLJDSLKJS;LKADJSLKJS. I'm so glad you're enjoying it! It took me until "The Five", but I've been completely obsessed since then. I'd be thrilled to talk about it with you any time you want. :D

Yes, please! Let's discuss how awesome Amanda Tapping is and how the scene in Season 2 - with Ashley sacrificing herself when she only just regained control of herself and Helen Magnus' face and how heartbreaking that was, even though I felt like I barely knew Ashley (because, you know, I only really got into it at episode 9, and in the early episodes, I just didn't find the characters very compelling).
Which, like - may I ask why you weren't into it before? Because I didn't really find the characters very interesting before (I think it only started improving in the second season for me, and even then, I had some issues with the acting, as well as overarching plot... mainly how it didn't really seem to have one), and I'm just curious to know if other people found it the same way.

Oh man, I could go on for a lifetime about how awesome Amanda is. That scene kills me every time. Her face is just perfect.
This is my initial reaction post. With the exception of Will, who I found really annoying, I liked most of the characters fine (especially John - I'm obsessed with John), but I found the terrible green screen off-putting, and the stand-alone episodes were a bit been-there-done-that, and yeah, some of the acting wasn't great. Something was just...lacking. I would have toughed it out anyway; initially, that was just because of Amanda, but then it was because of John and John/Helen as well. But then 1x07 happened, and I legitimately fell in love with the whole show. It just has so many things that I love - sci-fi, steampunk, archaeology, alternate history, time travel. It's glorious. I still have minor complaints every now and then, but mostly, I just go wherever it leads. ♥

It was weird for me, because though I started liking the show just a few episodes before that, it wasn't like I was emotionally invested in it or anything like that. And then that scene happened, and it was just like, whoa, it's making me have feelings.
Thanks for the link to your post. I'm intrigued by Helen and John's epic old love too, because it's so obvious that he cares about her and she cares about him, even though they aren't presently together. Oh god, the green screen still bugs me. And you're right about the stand-alones, as well as something being missing. I still can't figure out what it is, but I think the show definitely got better in its second season. I definitely fell in love with Nikola Tesla, though. I think he's the first character on that show I loved. (I know, even with Magnus there - Tesla was the first I really loved).
