Hello, flist! What's going on? I miss you all!

- This happened a month or so ago, but I was too busy running around the lab to post it. croissantkatie did a nice podfic of my fic let's burn this world down (Merlin AU, Morgana/Morgause) that you can find here. This was the very first time I'd listened to podfic (or any sort of audio book-related material), so it ( Read more... )

From what I know of the shows that were picked up ... no, we're not getting more lesbians. Definitely not any genderqueer characters.

666 Park Ave. is SUPPOSED to be based on a book series, but having read the first book, I can tell you that the show is nothing at all like the book(s). It's the equivalent of reading PLL and then turning it into a police dudebro show.

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. And I knew expecting any genderqueer characters was a bit of a stretch, but ah well.

LOL! I just read the synopsis of the book, and you're right; it's kind of weird how the show seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the book. At least, I didn't gleam ANY of that from the TV show trailer. (Witches? Magical abilities? What? The show trailer just made it seem like weird things were going on in the building and that John Locke has something to do with it. Also, pretty ladies).

The trailer made it seem like the tenants made deals with the devil or something. Idk. Definitely not at all like the book. Not even a little.

Yeah, that was definitely the impression I got from the trailer.

It looks like there's a lesbian in Chicago Fire. So that means this time Dick Wolf decided there would be a canon lesbian opposed to all the ones we just imagine are lesbians.

It just tried to leave a comment with a link to the Chicago Fire trailer but my comment was marked as spam...

Hi! I had to manually unmark it as spam - thanks for the link! ROFL about imaginary lesbians; I never watched Law & Order, but I can only imagine. Canon lesbians ftw! :)

As for the show itself, I might give the pilot a try, but it doesn't seem like the type of show I'm usually into. There's a first time for everything, though. (Also, DANA LODGE is in this show!!)

I'll see the pilot but I agree, I doubt I'll be watching the show.

As for Dick Wolf's imaginary lesbians, that's a very long story. Go ask wizened_cynic about it.
