UP TO MY KNEES in bees, bread, yogurt, cheese, goats milk, wool, yarn, onion skins, garlic, apples, green beans, knitting, cozy nights by the fire

What I have accomplished: extracted over 1 gallon of honey so far (not even half done yet!), contacted a few farms
What I haven't accomplished: washing/carding/dyeing alpaca wool

Theoretically, I've beat my disease.

It's been a hard year, yet a good one.

Making my own raisins soon.

Q: How can something this pure and good be happening to me?

A loud flapping sound came from nearby as I stood on the hill of the terraced herb garden.
I turned my head to look above me as two wild turkeys flew over my head.

By this time tomorrow I'll have a needle in my arm with a plastic tube poking out. I will be giving myself antibiotics through this midline catheter for ten minutes every day for four weeks. A home IV nurse will be following me around all day Tuesday, teaching me how to do it and monitoring my body's response.

This is terrifying.

My day off on Monday felt more productive than normal. I took a long walk to the reservoir and skinny dipped by myself. I picked a bag full of mulberries. I recently was told that the Springsteen influence on my voice is apparent. I don't know. I suppose my voice has certain qualities from not only Springsteen, but also Zach Condon from Beirut, Feist (though I haven't listened to her much), and, majorly, Jens Lekman and Rachel Ries.
