today i was talking to my friend's brother and it was so frustrating because he NEVER listens. he's like indian a few generations ago!! everything is about the money, the flash (which are definitely not indian ideals, but highly viewed in american society)..and then he contradicts himself in which he follows those ideals which are western but says

With the God thing it seems like you were saying two different things. You said whether or not people get into heaven should be based on their good deeds and what is in their hearts. But for me, and as an observer of the human condition it seems for many people, what is in someone's heart does not always manifest itself in their actions.

When I decided to love God, I asked him for three things; to save me from the devil, the world, and myself. The third, really, being of my greatest concern. I know I am messed up. I don't try to hurt people or feel terrible things like hate but I do. If the entrance exam to heaven consists of whether or not I am a good person, I guess I should get used to extreme tempetures because I see third degree burns in my future.

i think i meant 1st degree burns. ha, i guess i should thank God intellectual capacity isn't a requirement either.

i never said good deeds and what was in someone's heart correlated. i meant even if you hurt someone or hated someone..but you didn't mean to, its your intention that counts. just like if you do something good, but you do it for recognition or something like that..its your intention again. i just hate it when people say only _______ will go to heaven, who are they to say? why am i any better than you? only god knows someone's heart and whether or not they will go to heaven..thats what i meant. anyway, it was interesting, i was reading this article in time that said that they surveyed a hundred people with near death experiences..in america, mexico, india, israel..just all over the world. and they described the SAME EXACT THING. to the very last tee. anyway, i'm babbling again.
