now this is what college is all about. tomorrow, for my grad course, i am to give a 30 minute presentation to my one classmate and my professor. my topic? rachmaninov's playing of his own prelude no. 5, opus 23, versus the performances of this prelude by ten other pianists since his death. i've probably listened to this prelude upwards of 150 ( Read more... )

That's really fuckin awesome.
I was just talking to someone about how I barely ever got anything out of papers I've written in school and how sad that makes me. I've done it a couple times, and it's always an amazing feeling, so it's awesome to hear when that happens to other people.
You're gonna kick ass on your presentation!

dude, remember winter quarter when i had that 35 page paper due, and i only 3 days to do it? But i was so stoked to finally write about something i new and loved. I completely understand what you are saying, after learning everything I could about Ghana, I just kept re-reading the same info cause I couldnt get enough of it. I know more about Ghana then I do my own country. haha Senior thesis can be intimidating but if youre writing about one of your passions it only makes it better.

hope it all worked out. Cant wait to go to los cerros. <3

Patrick,
I too, understand how it feels to delve into something. I took a beginning algebra course this past summer. It was 5 hours a day, 4 days a week. I was getting tutoring about 5 hours a week, and meeting with my classmates an hour before class. I eat, sleeped, and shit algebra. Sadly, I have to devote my time to 10 different things everyday, and don't get to really "get into" everything, and get excited when I can.
I hope all goes well, and I hope to see you at Los Cerros soon too!
