You know, I'm a bit bitter towards DC Metro. Around the new year they hiked up their prices, almost a dollar a day more for parking and about a dollar added each way for the actual metro itself (This is for my trip mind you, not everyone's). This comes up because they say they're losing money because they don't have enough people actually using it ( Read more... )

That's sexy. What happened? The DC Metro used to be significantly cleaner than most subways.

Is the MARC really slower when you're traveling from Gaithersburg? I recall the Red Line taking an eternity from Shady Grove, having driven in from distant Sykesville, though my mind may be exaggerating the time the metro takes. Certainly, you don't get fun conductors on the metro like you do on the MARC :)

For me it is. Because the Marc ends at Union Station then I go to DuPont but Red Line is from Shady Grove to DuPont.

If only the railroad tracks down the mall had never been pulled up, the MARC may have been much more convenient than it is today.
