I feel similarly; I hate the use of biblical imagery to raise scientific literacy because it will ALWAYS be misinterpreted. They're just opening the door to crazy people to say, see, the scientists believe in Noah's flood! But you also make excellent points about the location and use of building materials. Oh Greenpeace, when will you start doing something useful?

I was afraid that it might seem like I was making a mountain out of a molehill - glad to know the points were well taken! :)

I hadn't even read your response and my immediate thought was something along the lines of "WTF is their problem??? This totally undermines communicating to the public that this is SCIENCE!"

Things like this are what make me "hate hippies."

Do you think Greenpeace are hippies? Not trying to be snarky here, just actually wondering.

Ditto. It makes me sad, because they ARE a large and powerful lobby agent, and one of the few truly international ones. But I feel as though their strength and relevance are slowly waning with their poor choices.

This isn't actually in regards to this post. I wanted to ask your opinion on this LJ entry from the journal of a friend of mine. She's very conservative, and lately has been doing a lot on debunking global warming. You and her are two of the LJ friends I trust most, so I was wondering your take on this. What do you feel the consensus is among scientists? Thanks.

The journal entry is protected - is there any way you could copy and paste the details in an e-mail?

Hi Jacquelyn! Thank you for replying to my global warming post on _scientists_!

Thank you for writing this fantastic climate change blog. I just added you as a friend. I have 2 blogs (including tri-blog). :)

Ha! Glad you didn't think I was being too trollish. I get a bit zealous at times. :)

If I'm ever training for a triathlon, I'll check it out!

Nice to meet you, by the way.

It's really a pleasure, Jacquelyn! I've never met any climate scientists before, but through just one post, now I know some!

Actually, I put my drsaddam blog on hiatus and only post on my triathlon blog now. So I post on many topics there, not only my triathlon progress.

Thank you so much for helping to answer some of the claims others made, which I couldn't answer. I know I'll have many questions for you in the future!

Raymond
