One minute Daphne was walking right beside him, and then after the alarm went off, she was gone. Of course Mohinder couldn't keep up with her, so he arrived late, but still just in the nick of time to hop into the back of the car after her. He was not amused at her disappearing act

"Whatever you say, Sunshine," I say giving the girl a sideways glance. She's a tiny little thing, but she seems raring to get into a fight or twelve. We'll see how she does. Her speed will be helpful. Never know how fast whatever it is that has the doctor might be. "I do have a big red button, and do not push it. Only I get to push the button."
Then the other one climbs into the backseat, chattering away like we're about to go on a trip to White Castle. While he's leaned over the seat holding his hand out for me to shake, I hit the gas, knocking him back into the seat. "No time for that now. Get in. Hold on, and try to keep your curls out of the rear view." Not that I look behind me much unless I'm being chased by a Bentlargian Worm."
I shot into traffic, reached over to crank up the radio, and cut off three or four cabs on my way down the street. The building where Dr. Gray's alert had sounded was only five blocks away, but this was a matter of life and death.
Everything hurts but I know I'll be fine once I feed. The main thing is to get Gabriel out, I promised to keep him safe. It's hard to focus because the damn thing is swinging me around like a ragdoll but I manage to catch a glimpse of a blonde trying to pull Gabriel away and it's not working. I send shards of ice at the stretched thin tentacle, hoping that it's enough

"Yes, sir," he replied and followed orders, shooting at what appeared to be the center of the alien and double checking his gun was set as high as it would go. God, the goop was really flying and it smelled horrible, worse than burning tires. It was strangely fascinating how the creature began glowing but now was not the time to get distracted.
When K mentioned the explosion, Mohinder glanced around in panic, not sure of where Daphne was or why she hadn't came back for Peter. Looked like he would have to try going out there. But wait, this empath had regeneration right?... Right? He couldn't remember exactly. He knew the other Peters did, but this one was so new that he hadn't memorized all his powers yet

The core reached critical mass, and the explosion blew me a few yards across the room. I slid across the slime covered cement and came up sputtering. Lucky for me the mind control aspects would be ineffective now that the alien was dead. The doctor though, he'd been infected while it was alive. He was bound to be contaminated, and the Peter probably was too.
I got up slowly, listening to them checking on each other and flicked some of the thicker ropes of goop off my hand to call into base. "A clean up crew will be here shortly," I told them as I wiped my face clean of the muck.
"Let's get out of here, go back to base, and see how Doctor Gray is doing. I'm assuming that's where Agent D went." Unless of course she got infected too, but I had my hopes that she hadn't been. "Your doctor's got about 24 hours before he's been irrevocably contaminated."

((I think that's it for this one.))
