On taxes

Campaign stump speeches and the looming recession have produced a torrent of editorials on the economy. And from what I can tell, nothing seems to have changed. The Wall Street Journal still worships supply-side economics in its unsigned and signed editorials. The New York Times is still the bastion of 1970s liberalism that it was in 1970. I wrote in random bursts over three days, but I've felt that way about government spending for a long time. There's more to it than what I wrote, but I figured 1800 words was enough.

I think a major source of our economic troubles stems from globalization. and I don't think that a tax rebate will do shit. banks from china buy out banks here to back them up, and then when the average person gets money they can spend they spend it on imported goods from china. I am not clever enough to propose a solution to the problem, but it seems that until we can consume less than we produce our economy is going to be screwed. that's how I've been told things are going at least.
