I'm pretty sure I won't be accepted into TFA. I've spent the past few weeks reflecting on my interviews, and there were a couple of crucial mistakes and omissions that I can't see the interviewers overlooking. I know I certainly wouldn't. I've been invited to a final interview with Teach for America on March 27 at MSU. It sounds pretty intense, basically 6 hours of workshops, discussion, lecture and activity followed by an hour-long one-on-one interview. And it all starts at 8:30 a.m ( Read more... )

Just applied to Teach for America. I'm quite enamored with the program's mission/vision - here's hoping it all works out.

Campaign stump speeches and the looming recession have produced a torrent of editorials on the economy. And from what I can tell, nothing seems to have changed. The Wall Street Journal still worships supply-side economics in its unsigned and signed editorials. The New York Times is still the bastion of 1970s liberalism that it was in 1970.
