People are always using the word "gay" as a synonym for stupid or lame.

That's odd that a teacher would say something like that. I'm not the tattle tail type but I would deffinately bust his ass for making a smart ass remark about not getting fired. And in case you were wondering yes there are quite a few white trash people here in florida, I want to move it's fucking 80 something degrees in the middle of winter.
