Chanter's Board Quest: Maleficar in Darktown

Cullen had received word that a group of maleficar gather together every week in the shadows of Darktown. For nights he and his fleet had been patrolling the streets but the long nights spent there went unrewarded. Not this night though. Tonight, he would have help-someone more adept with the shadows than he or his templars

Bianca arrives right on schedule, equipped in her favorite armor, Starfang and Fang, her mother's dagger, on her back, Mudge at her heels.

She gives a small nod to Cullen.

"So. Malefecar, huh?"

She smirks a bit.

"This should be interesting."

[knightcullen]

"Your confidence is hardly reassuring," Cullen scowls. "I've dealt with maleficar before and I suggest we be absolutely wary."

"I have confidence in my ability to successfully succeed. Beside, maleficar should be afraid of me."

She gives a determined nod, and Mudge woofs quietly in agreement.

"So. Tell me what you need me to do, Cullen."

He nods and stands, adjusting the greatsword on his back. Better to be confident then rather than fearful. In fear, there is hesitation.

"We patrol Darktown but I need you to check the darker areas."

Bianca nods. Seems simple enough to her.

"Mudge, you'll go with the Templars, okay?"

The dog whines a bit, tilting his head.

"Because you're terrible at sneaking around, that's why! And they need me to sneak!"

Mudge seems to get this, but he just sort of looks at Cullen as if he doesn't trust him.

"Just tell me where to go!"

Cullen eyes the mabari carefully and sighs. He'll let the others handle that.

"We'll go to Darktown," Cullen replies, making his way out the door. "The others are waiting for us there."

"Aye aye, Knight Captain!"

She gives him a smile. Relax, Cullen. Bianca's here, she'll take care of those nasty blood mages for you guys.

She still has a few questions, though, which she asks once they're outside and on their way to Darktown.

"How many blood mages are there? How many of you guys are there?"

"We're not exactly sure how many they are but I have around four Templars at my side tonight. We're not planning on attacking just yet. We just need information first."

[snarky_tabris]

"Fair enough. If these are just plain old apostates, and not a bunch of crazy blood mages..."

Well, it'll be harder for her to help the Templars bring them in, if that's the case.

"I hope you don't mind, but I've got a few of my people coming in to help out too. Not Wardens, though, don't worry. Just Hawke and people like that."

[ella_hawke]

"I feel the love" Ella jokes as she comes up behind Bianca. "So Hawke and Hawke are 'just' Hawke. Not even Hawke #1 and Hawke #2 or the awesome Hawke and the other awesome Hawke?"

Bianca grins at Ella.

"Well, Hawke is both singular and plural! I wasn't sure I had both of you coming today, so I decided to play it safe."

Bianca then nods at Cullen.

"You two know each other, so I don't need to do introductions, do I?"

Ella laughs. "Mhm, mhm, suuuuure. I don't know if my sister is coming or not, I hope she is though."

She looks cautiously at Cullen. "I know him, not sure if he knows me.

Cullen narrows his eyes. Of course he knew the Champions of Kirkwall. Great, heroic characters, yes but they frequently stick their noses into people's business.

"We're acquainted. We've spoken a few times." He turns back to Bianca. "Try not to bring too many people. We're trying not to be detected."

"Don't worry, I won't. I just felt like some backup wouldn't be a bad idea."

Bianca smiles.

"Well, we should get to work, right?"

[knightcullen]

"Yes, we should," Cullen agrees.

The group arrives at Darktown, meeting up with a few templars. "These are Ser Wylon, Ser Tamora, Ser Clyde and Ser Dayla." Cullen gestures to each one of the armored templars. One can't really tell who was who once they went out of line due to their helmets. "They'll be on guard behind you so don't worry. They'll be on call for back-up at any time."

Bianca nods at the templars, wondering how she'll tell them all apart. They all look the same with the helmets...

"Right. Okay, team, we got some blood mages to investigate!"
