I have cleverly updated my froogle wish-list in the hope that it will inspire people to buy me things I actually want for my birthday (rather than, you know, silly mugs and lingerie and the like). It will not, of course, work. But hey.

When we'd done most of the work on the yearbook and were putting it onto CDs for the printer, Arpita started fiddling around with Verm's laptop. Anannya suddenly shouted "do not fiddle while Nero is burning!". Mirth occurred.

We remembered this today. Mirth occurred again. Just thought I'd share.

I gave my notes from the past academic year to a friend who is now in third year. Apparently I write good notes, but I do tend to digress a little. I've changed all my LJ icons to Harry Potter ones  (go look!) for the next ten days or so (because I need to give myself a couple of days extra to get incredibly excited and discuss the book constantly in). My grandfather is going blind. His eyesight's getting worse and he actually has to feel for things off his plate when it's right in front of him. And he cries, and the doctor says he'll operate but it'll only delay the inevitable. It's upsetting, but I can't rid myself of the belief that nothing bad can happen to my grandfather - he's practically ( Read more... )

In the airport waiting lounge this afternoon I sat in a seat right next to a huge ad for a men's magazine with an improbably shaped bikini-clad woman on the cover. I then took out a bar of chocolate and proceeded to eat it while reading The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf. I really wish some random attractive passerby had gotten the joke.

Exams (and therefore college) are over, and I feel like a person again.
