By California do you mean El Segundo or Sunnyvale?

If anyone can lend an empathetic ear, it's me. I can't tell you how many times I got frustrated over the years (particularly last year in Astoria) when I needed to take care of some random personal items, and instead was on the road working 15-16+ hr days... or working 6-7 days a week... or both. Then there was the time in Denver when Cat and I went for months without getting to see each other, and I was able to count on one-hand the number days I had off between major summer holidays (Mem Weekend - 4th of July... or 4th of July - Labor Day).

But, I can tell you this. In the end, you wouldn't put in the time if you didn't enjoy the people you worked with and for, and didn't enjoy what you do. With a little bit of faith in your management, they should see that passion reflected in your dedication and you will be duly rewarded for your time, effort, and quality results.
