My sister, her husband and I rented motorbikes and drove to ba be for five days, it was awesome. I want to buy a bike now.

It's forbidden for PCVs to ride motorcycles (called just motos here), but everyone does it anyway mostly because 90% of the country rides them. I get passed by my colleagues buzzing by on their motos while I huff and puff and bike my way to school. A girl that everyone loved just got sent home when Peace Corps found a picture of her riding a moto on one of the computers. Motos: Serious Business.

crazy, but i guess it makes sense because they'll have to ship you out when you get into an accident.

i love riding, after that trip i went on a week long trip south by myself, and a three day trip with miriam in laos, it's one of the funnest things you can do. Me, miriam, becky, and scotty all said that we're going to buy motorcycles after we rode them. also, they're just called motos here too.
