blintzfest!

Cherry blintzes have been spotted at West Seattle Thriftway.

A rarity, indeed.

They also have blueberry, cheese, apple, & potato.

The fruited & potato blintzes are great with a dollop of sour cream. Cheese blintzes are great with a dollop of applesauce.

hehe... once you navigate the parking lot insanity it's almost a shopping oasis.

They are like crepes but the dough is a bit thicker, & wrapped around a filling of fruit, ricotta-like cheese, or potato.

You're at the West Seattle Thriftway, and you don't stop by my place to share a Cherry Blintz? GASP!

How dare you! I am just down the street from there!!!

Hehe... as if I knew where your street was. I'm walking distance (sort-of) from Metropolitan Market but will make the trip down to Thriftway often enough because of their selection & price.

Actually I didn't make any blinz purchases. Well almost bought 1 box of each in a moment of impulse-buying insanity but eventually put them back as I'm trying to be careful about spending.

Maybe if job prospects look up this week I'll procure some celebratory blintzes.

How about I lay a trail of Cherry Blintz that lead to my front door? LOL!

Me too. I had a veggie & dip plate for lunch an hour ago. Healthy & yummy, yes... but filling, no.

I had cherry and cheese blintzes for brunch at the Carnegie Deli in NYC a few years ago.

It's the only time I ever had them. They were delicious. Hopefully things will be looking up to a point where you can have a celebratory blintz!

Cheers!

Not only are blintzes delicious, but 'blintz' is a funny word to read & say. :)

My bubby used to make them when I was a kid. Not from scratch, but basically you butter a frying pan & also each frozen blintz. Then you just fry & turn with a spatula until a golden-brown & yum-myy!

We never had the fruity blintzes though... bubby was a strict potato or cheese devotee.
