Random note the first: major, major Jon Stewart love for his commandingly pwning interview with conservative author Ramesh Ponnuru, author of a new book actually called "The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life." He starts the interview by calling him on his hypocrisy right off the bat - snarking at ( Read more... )

"Apparently he doesn't stop to think that maybe we should have the decision-making power, here."

But...haven't you heard that we have one "decider"? :/

Hee, indeed. The Daily Show has made up a superhero comic about that.

Oh man, I was hoping someone else on my FL saw this! There were so many parts when Ponnuru was just stuttering, unable to come up with any defense. The careful way Stewart kept mentioning how the title of the book was JUST A LITTLE INFLAMMATORY, while Ponnuru was trying to stick to his, "Hey, I don't know what you mean!" shtick. It was great. He was so flustered he didn't know which way to turn next. Did you notice he took about 45 sips from his water? It was especially gratifying because other conservative authors have been on the show, I remember the former Iraqi general who was insisting to Stewart that he SAW WMD himself, and either Stewart handles them with a little more finesse or they aren't such complete and total fuckwits. It was so amazingly satisfying to see his entire "platform" collapse.

Ben Stein? A socialist? The man who wrote this and this and THIS is a socialist? I ... can't even find words.

I bet this guy was just slightly less prepared to be ripped into than the others, 'cause even here Jon wasn't really all that harsh. One of those sad bastards who never actually watched the show before being asked to appear, and revealed his massive incompetent jackassery. That should happen *so* much more often. *happy sigh*

And, dude, seriously. Bill's just *that* crazy. This website has some great, horrifying other examples.

Jon kicked SO much ass tonight. When they first brought that guy on, I almost thought it was a joke, it was that ludicrous. Sometimes I wonder what these guys think they're going to accomplish by coming on TDS, other than making themselves look like fools.

My roommate made me LEAVE in the middle of that interview to move cars. I was kinda pissed. Finally a good kick-ass interview and I don't get to watch it all! *sigh*

Eh, I kind of suspect that the people he's writing for are the same people that look at a brown person and think, "TERRORIST!" So, good luck, dude.

Heh, so true. Although, as one of the tiny handful of "approved" minority people, he has a pretty good shot at speaking at the next RNC.
