OY veh. It has been a day of mish mash. Several loooong meetings at work. We had to go to the opening session of the big Sales conference, another to learn about our new 401k plans. Being an adult sucks. I don't want to worry about this retirement stuff! *sigh* In between that another eye check-up ( Read more... )

So what happens if they have to clear out the cells?? will they grow back in again?

I have to have constant monitoring for retina, have had two detachments (one in each eyes, both spontaneous), and optic nerve damage from either the brain tumor I had or one of both of the surgeries to remove it. The ophthalmologists at VAMC are not sure which. . .

However, my vision appears to be holding its own....RX has had little change in past 8 years since my brain surgery.

My run down above sounds somewhat like "Other than that Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the performance?"

Yikes! Fingers crossed vision continues to hold its own for you. Sounds like all you need is one more thing to add to the list! :-/

The Doc said there is a risk the cells could grow back, but they might not. So the bigger risk of them continuing to grow unchecked is bigger than risk of infection to clean them up. If they keep growing (and they grew noticeably since my check-up last thursday) they could compromise my vision, and they could weaken the cornea. So I'm feeling pretty good about going forward.

And at least it's just one eye that will be a little wonky for a few days! :)

My Mum had that same thing with the epithelial cells I think, after a cataract op and they fix it with a laser, very simply, takes hardly any time. Hang in there!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not too worried. Good to hear about how easy it was for your mum, hoping the same goes for me too!

The loudest animal is human, isn't it ??

& good luck with the eyes... I'm not a good candidate for LASIK (eyes too dry), can't even wear contact.. so I'm stuck with my glasses :*(

The answer would be the Howler Monkey. Although I suppose through use of technology it would be humans. Hadn't thought of that!

And Thanks! I'm so happy the LASIK worked for me. Even though there's this little blip of a complication, the overall results have been so awesome. It's still weird getting used to after 25 years of glasses... :D
