But it seems like everyone I know under 25 is pregnant. Why is this? This seems like a bad idea to me with this economy.

You get a taxbreak for having kids. I doubt it offsets the expenses much.

Seriously, I doubt that however good the tax break is that it is good enough to compensate for all the money and time that babies take. Especially if said parties haven't finished school yet.
