Since someone so boldly thought it best to comment in my journal on the notion of politics, I today was faced with a choice. To defend my convictions and fight back? You shouldn't be so many to somebody for commenting in your internet journal. You're too defensive about your values, and she didn't even take a mean tone her message. After all, you are a liberal, and according to the dictionary, a liberal is "tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others" and "broad-minded" (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=liberal"). The dictionary's definition of a liberal, which you seem to be virtuously aspiring to judging by your prior messages, is far from calling anyone who disagrees with you names ( ... )

Repeating what I had said before, it is all in how you look at it. I obviously have different views than you do. And I wasn't trying to persuade you in a different direction. I wasn't looking for you to make a point in your defense, I was stating how I felt about the election, like everyone else was. Clearly this is something you feel strongly about, but I wouldn't jump down on everyone that has a different perspective than you do. Politics are cruel, but it doesn't mean that you have to BE cruel to prove your point. Next time I won't bother...I'll just keep my moral Republican comments to myself...

You do indeed rawk. I love how you back up your arguments. This election is so scary, because I don't think anyone in the country is going to be entirely happy however it turns out. Kerry is not perfect either.

Liberal is moral too!

Sure you can back up your opinions just fine, but you completely ruin that by resorting to immature name calling. You're what- a junior in highschool? Grow up a little bit, alright?
