Why are people making quizzes about trivial bullshit? The point of those quizzes is to see how well a person knows YOU. The physics, sociology, and music quizzes are not superlative topics. I go to college. I do not need anymore "help" in the area of quizzes as such. If you make a quiz, make it something about you; those quizzes are about the ( Read more... )

Whoa chill buddy. Its all for good fun, it started with a philosophy one from Aaron that ripped us all in the bum so we all kidna made our own. If it bothers you that much don't take the quizes. If you're sore about low scores, its fine, hell, I got a 10 on Dereks music quiz and um...who the fuck cares?

Oh no, I did quite well on most of the quizzes, considering the triviality/difficulty. but i started the quiz on the premise that i was taking a quiz about YOU, not your favorite subject.

If you didn't notice already, I jumped on the bandwagon to make a point. I made it exorbitantly hard to illustrate that the only reason people were making them was to make themselves feel smart and others dumb. Some people know a lot of shit about one thing, and not another. Now let's take advantage of that and make a quiz that will school you hard.

on the contrary, your quiz was more reasonable than most (paul's). music is a more widely known subject than sociology or even physics.

lol never caught THAT part of the quizes, I just thought it was all about randomness. I guess I don't assume the cynical motives behind things. I think me and Michael had the same mentality about these things, no one expects you to know these things and its fun to laugh about shitty scores because we DON'T know this crap. I guess I'm an asshole now for making a quiz? My bad...

You forgot to mention my wildlife quiz... jeez. Seriously though, why does it bother you? It's not like you're getting graded nor do you drop a social status level; the quizzes are just random. Personally, I enjoyed the randomness of these quizzes just seeing what all people were coming up with. The "How old am I?" "How many siblings do I have?" "When did I last go to the bathroom" Quizzes are boring... again, in my opinion. I do not believe that "the only reason people were making them was to make themselves feel smart and others dumb." C'mon, not everyone is out trying to feel superior by having an above average knowledge in something. I would imagine the majority of quiz creators didn't have that in mind. It does point out that we specialize in certain areas; that noone knows everything. So Josh, Derek, and anyone else who lets these trivia quizzes get under thier skin, chill. I believe everyone has free will, and that if they so choose not to take the darn quizzes, then they don't have to.

It's not under my skin, I don't really care about the quizzes. I just used the opportunity to make a statement.

And a good statement it was derek, it does prove a point. Why not make a quiz about something you know well to see how much other people know about it. As long as you don't give people shit for not doing well, especially in a topic not everyone knows about.

*Feels that was jab directly at his quiz*
*Cry*

Seriously though, I didn't think those quizzes were meant to make anybody else feel stupid. Like Sarah, I contemplated making one like that, but didn't because I didn't have the motivation to think up hard questions :P I actually found it pretty fun trying my hand at stuff I only marginally knew about (with the exception of Derek's quiz. I had not the foggiest idea about any of his questions). I'd like to reiterate one more time how much I suck at guessing, and then to say that I still enjoyed these :D

The whole point to my quiz is that I just was putting up questions about something that I really like and just wanted to see how everyone did. Do I care what you make? No, not in the least bit. Hell, I sucked at all of the other quizzes that I took witht the exception of Joey's.

I'll tell you why... psychotele March 6 2005, 14:34:40 UTC
I made my quiz with two thoughts in mind; one for you guys, and one for other people that I won't mention. For you guys, I just wanted to share what I do at Baylor. I think my quiz is 'about me' in a sense, just not in the loose and popular sense. After all, I spend most of my day doing philosophy. That aside, I just wanted everyone to get a good chuckle out of the whole thing. If you know the answers, fine. If you don't, then so what. You can always post a comment on my journal telling me how hard the quiz was or something of that sort ( ... )
