I saw Joe Flanigan at DragonCon a few years ago and, oh my, is he attractive. Very distracting.

I agree that he created a character far more interesting and appealing that was originally written. And that part of the fun was his affection for Rodney. I wanted another year if only to have more of that.

I've heard that in person, he's even more amazingly good looking. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that. :D

I so loved their relationship. He was so obviously fond of Rodney, it was wonderful to see.

I know. I had issues with the show, especially by the 5th season, but have always loved the characters.

Fandom created a marvelous character as well! I will never quite get over the excessive love I had for John Sheppard and Rodney McKay. They saved each other's asses. They were dorky together. John had an intense look he saved only for special occasions (Rodney's mouth).

John could be very intense when he wanted to be. Just another aspect to a fascinating character! And oh yes, you really didn't have to squint to see his love for Rodney. :D
