travellin' to Uighur Autonomous Province

Looks like I'm finally traveling to Kashgar, Turpan, Heavenly Lake and Urumqi this July. Turpan will be in the 120s. I think this is gonna work out...bought ticket from Seattle-Beijing, just need Beijing-Urumqi leg

wonderful professor in russian and central asian studies at the Univ. of WA. Mountain climber and scholar, showed us pictures of deserts rubbing elbows with mountain ranges. also intrigued by the nomadic herders and their lifestyle. so I guess the visual and mental images I have of the place :)
