Sure, why not

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want-- good or bad. When you've finished, post this little paragraph on your blog, and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

We were always the last ones to finish Chemistry labs, except for that one time where we were second to last. Ah yes, that was a sweet victory indeed.

I remember watching the Celtic Festival with you, and wanting very badly to reach out and hold your hand, but being really afraid that you'd pull away and things would get awkward for the rest of the season...holding your hand all the way home was amazing. :-)

You were 3 and we were at the Science Museum. You were working on little puzzle thingies with a concentration that defied all stereotypes of toddlers. You had that awesome buzz cut that you insisted on that year ("short like daddy's!") A harmless old guy came and sat near you, watching you go through one puzzle after another, until he said, "Are you going to be an engineer when you grow up, young fellow?"

Without looking at the man, without breaking your puzzle-mind focus at all, you picked up the puzzle and turned away from him, saying only, "I'm a girl."

End of conversation, bub.

I was so proud of you. I still am.
