I'm just leaving this here to talk about how much I want a dog. We have the best/craziest cats alive (Mike picked up Sprite and sprayed him with water on his belly and he just sat there. Actually, all of that, yes, exactly. I let them interact with Mike's parents dog because she is huge and it's impossible to keep her away from the babies. But she's so big I make sure I'm there to guard because she's so clumsy she could hurt them. I also let them interact, again supervised, with my/my Mother's dog but outside of that dogs are look at don't touch. While I do not fear dogs I think it is reasonable to not assume every dog owner also is around small children. Therefore the dog may not recognize that small people are loud, aggressive, clumsy, and actually people. Dogs should not have that level of responsibility. If you wouldn't allow your two year old to do it don't let your dog do it because they have about the same cognitive reasoning. Therefore why I'm waiting for the boys to be on the later end of two beginnings of three before getting a dog. I need them to be capable and somewhat competent before introducing a dog for everyone's safety. Because, oh yeah, babies don't know their own strength and can also hurt things ( ... )
